Interview with Gabriël – VAT Increase on Holiday Parks

The government plans to increase VAT on holiday parks and group accommodations from 9% to 21% starting in 2026. This measure will affect both guests and recreation entrepreneurs. For example, at ONS BUITEN, profit margins could come under pressure due to the VAT increase. In an interview with HISWA-RECRON, Gabriël commented:
"Because of the higher VAT, there will be less margin left, which means that the necessary investments in the energy transition and circular economy cannot be realized. We are being forced to hold back on the very investments that would make a difference in the energy transition and circular economy, and to stand still.”
