NATURE CAMPSITE
Surrounded by nature reserves such as De Manteling and Oranjezon, and just a few minutes by bike from forest and beach, you’ll find ONS BUITEN: space between sea and land. A nature campsite within a developing food forest, where peace, discovery, and nature come together. Here, you have the space to slow down, breathe deeply, and return to your own natural rhythm.
THE LANDSCAPE
The nature campsite consists of 11.5 hectares of evolving landscape, where nature, people, and animals strengthen the ecosystem together.
Across the campsite grows a rich variety of herbs, (food forest) plants, shrubs, and (fruit) trees. Part of the food forest planting has been created on hügels: raised mounds that stimulate soil life and encourage more vigorous plant growth. During your stay, you are welcome to taste and enjoy the edible plants.
ONS BUITEN allows nature to take its course as much as possible, stepping in only where needed to support missing links within the ecosystem. Through selective mowing and pruning, natural processes are imitated and the soil is nourished with energy to strengthen the ecosystem.
Animals also play an important role in this balance. Throughout the grounds, you will regularly encounter deer, chickens, birds, and wild bees contributing to the ecosystem. In this way, the landscape continues to grow in harmony with the rhythm of nature.
The nature development site offers space for camping and recreation. It is a medium-sized campsite with various facilities, including a WELLNESS & POOL area. Even so, ONS BUITEN maintains an intimate and small-scale atmosphere.

WELLNESS & POOL
The circular WELLNESS & POOL building offers space to relax both body and mind in the Finnish sauna, herbal sauna, and steam cabin. You can unwind on a lounger in the relaxation room and cool down in the plunge pool. In the wellness garden, you can wander along walking paths, shower outdoors, and pick herbs for tea.
MUD & WATER PLAYGROUND
At the heart of the nature campsite, a mud and water playground has been created to encourage children to build their own worlds using natural elements. Discover more about our vision on play
BINNEN RUIMTE
The BINNEN RUIMTE is a place to connect, but also to retreat for a moment. A space to work, read, or simply be. With reliable Wi-Fi and a cup of organic coffee always within reach. In the BINNEN RUIMTE, we offer as many local products from Zeeland as possible. The menu is largely organic and entirely vegetarian. Since spring 2026, we have served only alcohol-free drinks, creating space for clarity, awareness, and a different way of enjoying time together.

THE SURROUNDINGS
The surrounding area offers plenty of opportunities to discover what nature on Walcheren has to offer. Within just a few minutes by bike, you can reach the North Sea beach. For surfing, the SurfClub in Domburg is highly recommended. A beach walk in Oostkapelle can easily be combined with a walk through the artistic oak forest of De Mantelinge. For adventurers, Oranjezon is a must-visit. In the early morning hours, countless deer can be spotted across the vast dune landscape.

Perhaps you’ll spend time in the WELLNESS & POOL area, or the entire day at the mud and water playground.
