Middelburg

A hidden gem

Middelburg has the most listed buildings per square metres in the Netherlands. The capital city of Zeeland with its imposing squares, typical back streets, and decorative façades radiates an opulent past. Middelburg has lots of unique boutique shops and nice cafés that are sometimes a bit hidden away.  Robuust, for example, serves especially great coffee,  you can try one of the delicious cakes or pies at Honeypie,  and get some organic seeds for your own garden at city garden shop Plantaardig.  Shops stay open until 9:00 pm on Thursdays. On Mondays, however, Middelburg joins us in our life in slow motion as many of the shops open after 12:00 pm.
